Calm your busy mind with a free online mindfulness class made just for you!
You are invited to take part in our exciting online mindfulness class. You will learn to pay attention to the present moment rather than worrying about the past or future. Mindfulness is a really good way to beat your worries and feel better.
The class will be hosted by Sarah Gale. She is a qualified mindfulness expert from Simply Mindfulness. During the class, Sarah will introduce you to some easy relaxing techniques. You’ll also get to try a fun mindfulness eating activity, and have a go at calming ways of breathing.
Who can take part?
You can take part if you are:
- Ages 8–11
You will need:
- Access to any computer, smartphone or tablet with an internet connection
- A small piece of food for a fun activity
When is the class?
Thursday 27 August – 1.30pm to 3pm
What will I be doing?
1.30pm – Log onto Zoom and join the onine waiting room.
1.45pm – Welcome and introductions. It’s time to meet our mindfulness guide, Sarah. You will also meet Claire and Sally from the youth team and all the other young people taking part.
2.00pm – Sarah will introduce us to some simple mindfulness techniques. These will include things like, ‘What can I do when I feel “wobbly”?’ (to cope with anxiety), a fun eating activity and some special breathing techniques.
2.45pm – It’s time to say goodbye, feeling all the benefits of a soothing mindfulness session!
How do I sign up?
Your parents or carers will need to fill in the application form for the event. They can use the link below to apply for you.
This session will take place on Zoom. Once your place on the event is confirmed, we will send you all the information you need to join.
