Want to make your own sweet treats? Join us for an online bake off from your kitchen!
Our virtual bake off will start with a live baking class led by deaf cook Yvonne Cobb from Yumma Food. Over the class, she’ll be teaching us how to create some tasty shortbread biscuits and a lockdown banana loaf, to share with all the family!
Who can take part?
You can take part if you are:
- Aged 8 – 15 years old
When is the class?
• If you are 12 – 15 years old – 10.30am – 12.30pm on Tuesday 18 August
• If you are 8 – 11 years old – 10.30am – 12.30pm on Wednesday 19 August
What will I be doing?
Check out what you’ll be getting up to!
10.30am-11am – Log on and meet our hosts, as well as other deaf young people taking part.
11am-12pm – Yvonne will be showing us step by step how to create some tasty shortbread biscuits and a lockdown banana loaf!
12pm-12.30pm – Time to lick the spoon and talk about how we’ve found the session.
After lunch, we’ll catch up again and share how our baked goodies have come out, and tuck in!
What will I need?
To make your shortbread biscuits and banana loaf, you’ll also need:
- Food processor
- Rectangle baking tray or square
- Medium saucepan
- Small bowl
- Rectangle deep cake tin
How do I sign up?
Your parents or carers will need to fill in the application form for the event. They can use the link below to apply.
The class will take place on Zoom. Once your place on the event is confirmed, we will send you all the information you need to join.
